Tourist Information for Genova

Genova has much to offer the curious traveler that wants to get off the beaten path - for tourist information visit here and follow on Instagram for more visual snapshots.
The National Gallery di Palazzo Spinola in Genoa
Genova has 42 UNESCO World Heritage listed palaces and sites known as the Palazzi dei Rolli. They were once all private residences and these days Museums and Galleries where the noble and wealthy families presided. On my ticket was Palazzo Spinola and Palazzo Reale. They were both in short walking distance of each other. Although there are many more and would take a few days to really explore the Strada Nuova, these days called Via Garibaldi. In all there 150 residences that were developed in the 16th Century under the Republic of Genoa. Within the Palazzo Spinola is an art gallery, chapel, salon, dining room, hall of mirrors (pictured above), kitchen, historical archives and many more elegant rooms.  (Open from 1.30-7pm)
The iconic Revello Pasticceria and Focacceria in the Ligurian village of Camogli, about twenty minutes from Genova on the railway line - no one comes out of this shop without a few bags of artisan biscuits and the most fabulous focaccia formaggio, there is generally a cue, but don't worry about that - this shop is one of the delights of the visually beautiful Camogli when visiting this region of Italy.
My pesto sauce I made from Enrica’s recipe was so beautiful with the most delicate balance too
The city of Genova seems to have so many layers, so many contrasts and colours, the old world and the new, a large port city that once dominated the Mediterranean Sea as a maritime power - Genova, La Suburba...
